Walnut Recall in 2024 Is at FDA's Maximum Danger Level

Over halfway through 2024, there have been a number of significant food recalls this year.

Even while it may be distressing, recalls involving products like poultry, salad greens, and deli meats are not uncommon.

because these foods are not shelf-stable and are more prone to result in food poisoning during manufacture.

On the other hand, nuts have a low moisture content and can remain fresh for quite some time. But recalls can occur for any food.

Trader Joe's and Walmart were forced to recall some of their bagged cashews earlier this year.

while the California-based Stutz Packing Company had to recall some of its shelled walnuts in July for a very serious reason.

The possibility of listeria monocytogenes contamination is the cause of the walnut recall.

This recall is now being categorized as having a Class One risk level because listeria infection can be extremely dangerous.
